BANDUNG- Port Health Office (KKP) will closely monitor the spread of infectious diseases through three aspects: the flow of people, goods and animals, as long as the goods and animals are still at the airport or harbor then it is CTF's authority.
The Director General of Disease Prevention and Control, Ministry of Health, Muhammad Subuh said that he prevents the disease transmission of people, goods and other animals to humans. However, after coming out of the transportations, it will be the authority of the quarantine and customs to take care of them.
"But if they are still in the transportations, it is not guaranteed that they are free of diseases. The prevention will be carried out by sterilization," he told reporters in Bandung, on Friday (17/03/2017).
Likewise with the arrival of foreign ships entering the waters of Indonesia, it is reported by Subuh that the ship will stop and raise the yellow flag that means that the ship is not allowed in before being checked by CTF.
"CTF Officers should check the health condition of the crews that will be sent out to the sea and examined approximately 2 to 3 hours," he explained.
Once they are sure that the crews are safe and healthy, and they do not bring items that carry infectious disease, they will lower the yellow flag and raise the white flag.
"If the white flag is up, it means that the port master already knows that the ship is not carrying infectious diseases, and may be docked," he said. (MAT)
