    Regional Police Command Seizes 8,5 kg 'Shabu' from Prison Network

    BANDUNG- Directorate of Narcotics and Drugs of West Java Police Command (POLDA Jabar) has managed to seize 8.5 kilograms crystal methamphetamines, or known as "shabu", which will be distributed in the regions of South Sumatera, DKI Jakarta, and West Java.

    Director of the Narcotics Unit of POLDA Jabar, Police Grand Commissioner Asep Jenal Ahmadi said that the disclosure of the case firstly began when the Sub Directorate I of Ditresnarkoba Polda Jabar analysed the methamphetamine trade in the West Java region. After obtaining the information, the Police Command managed to capture a courier whose initials is 'AF', in Griya Kencana Bojong, Bogor Regency, on Saturday (03/04).

    "Once we’ve got information and explored its network to Jakarta, Tangerang, and Bekasi," he said in POLDA Jabar on Friday (03/17)

    The Unit performed a case development and arrested three other suspects, named VAP, YK, and PRN in the area of East Jakarta. The police seized 13 large packets of 8.5-kilogram Shabu from the suspects.

    "Through the suspects, it is known that the 13 packages were got from a prisoner identified as VIG, residing in the Prison of Class IIA Bulak Kapal Bekasi," Asep informed.

    Asep explained that based on the result of the investigation, the Shabu was originally from China sent through Malaysia, and then imported to Indonesia. "The crystal meth entered through Surabaya, then by Jakarta. And it was stored in a warehouses located in Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi," said Asep.

    Asep said that in total, there was IDR 29 billion worth of 39-kilogram crystal methamphetamine. Furthermore, the Police will keep conducting an investigation development toward the international network. jo
