    Central Government Encourages West Java to Accelerate Infrastructure Development

    BANDUNG - West Java Provincial Government continues to make an effort to accelerate a number of infrastructure development projects.

    Regional Secretary of West Java, Iwa Karniwa said that based on the results of the coordination meeting with the Central Government on Tuesday (04/18), President Jokowi wants the acceleration in development projects.

    He further said there are some development that is continue to be accelerated such as the construction of rapid rail, reactivation of the railway line which is previously delayed due to spatial problem, the construction of 14 toll roads, and the construction of the Port of Patimban in Subang.

    "The development, we direct it in accordance with the track that has been planned, and hopefully it can be faster. With the completion of infrastructure development, then there will be acceleration in economic growth in West Java," said Iwa, Wednesday (04/19).

    One focus of the completion, said Iwa is now about the construction of Patimban Port in Subang in which a few days ago, West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan has signed a location settlement (Penlok).

    "After Penlok, the next step is land acquisition, both the port area and the 23-km access roads to the port from Cipali Toll," he said.

    Land acquisition is planned to finish in 2017. Therefore, in the upcoming year of 2018 the construction of Patimban Port can be started.

    Regarding the land acquisition, Iwa further said that the Central Government has prepared a budget of IDR 500 billion.

    "The acquisition of land is the key of construction, hopefully it runs smoothly. Hopefully, the construction also  runs well without any obstacles so that the Patimban Port can be completed as it's planned," he said. (Pun)
