BANDUNG-Vice Governor of West Java Deddy Mizwar (Demiz) said, now we live in the era of digital economy. The e-Marketer's data shows that the number of internet users in Indonesia each year is increasing from 72.8 million people in 2013 to 102.8 million people by 2016, putting Indonesia at the 6th most internet users in the world.
"In fact, in 2017 our country is projected to overtake Japan in 5th place, with the number of internet users estimated to be 112.6 million people. In addition, Bank Indonesia estimates that internet users in Indonesia who shop online reach 24.7 million, do the value of e-commerce transactions dashed from about 25 trillion rupiah in 2014 to 69.8 trillion rupiah in 2016, and 2018 is expected to be 144 trillion rupiah. As technology value in e-commerce and financial technology sector is estimated to reached 22.6 trillion rupiah" he said in his welcoming speech in 14th Cooperative Fair at Metro Indah Mall Soekarno Hatta street Bandung, Thursday (10/8).
According Demiz, this conditions give a picture and motivation that digital economic activity or e-commerce has a great opportunity to continue to grow. Both sellers and buyers alike need it, because e-commerce not only offers convenience, but also the efficiency of time, effort and cost.
With a population more than 250 million people, Indonesia should not only be a market, but it should be a production base in Southeast Asia, and KUMKM should be involved in it. We should be able, because we have 8.7 million KUMKM, big enough potential to make our country as Global Player. We are also grateful, because besides 'Kredit Cinta Rakyat', the alternative business capital aid for KUMKM is also provided by Government, which plans to lower the KUR interest from 9% to 7%.
"From these things, in accordance with the theme raised in this Cooperative Fair, which is" Digitalization KUMKM Toward Global Market ", I encourage all business actors and UMKM in Indonesia, especially in West Java, to be aware and know about technology to be able to compete with other countries" he explained
"That's why I ask all the Local involved in the printing program of hundred thousand WUB West Java, to further strengthen the debriefing to the participants on the aspects of information technology, so that WUB can market their products through independent portals or at least through social media, or we facilities to enter into private e-commerce companies that are in favor of KUMKM.
