    West Java Foreign Trade Balance Surplus

    BANDUNG–West Java foreign trade balance in June 2017 is still positive or surplus, because it is supported by a surplus in non-oil and gas trade.

    In the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) report, June exports decreased as well as imports, but there is still a remaining trade or surplus in June by USD 1.28 billion.

    Head of West Java BPS, Dody Herlando, told reporters on Thursday (10/8) that the surplus from the value of USD 1.28 billion was supported by a surplus of non-oil commodities of USD 1.34 billion while oil and gas commodities minus USD 59.40 million.

    In terms of foreign trade volume, in June 2017 there was a surplus of 0.27 million tons, contributed by non-oil and gas surplus of 0.40 million tons while the volume of oil and gas commodities minus 129.76 million tons.

    West Java itself always experienced trade deficit with 3 countries namely China, South Korea, and Taiwan. With China the minus export and import trade reached USD 0.73 billion.

    However, BPS recorded during January to June 2017, West Java foreign trade surplus is still encouraging that reached USD 7.86 billion.
