BANDUNG-Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2017 starting today, Thursday (10/8) again held at Indonesia Convention Exhibition in Tangerang, Banten Province. GIIAS-25 is followed by more than 32 brands and 300 supporting brands.
In a press release, PT Astra International Tbk through its subsidiary PT Astra Otoparts Tbk displays a multipurpose transportation tool called Wintor with local component content of 86%. Currently Wintor has been used as a means of transporting oil palm in various palm oil companies in Indonesia.
With many advantages, Wintor is ready to enter the international market by targeting Malaysia as the second largest palm oil plantation in the world, after Indonesia. Malaysia is expected to become a potential market for Wintor's marketing in the future.
Wintor's design and production process is currently undertaken by Velasto Indonesia with local component content reaching 86%. Since 2013, there are 1,177 Wintor units spread across various locations in Indonesia and are being exported to Malaysia.
In the end of July 2017, President of the Republic Indonesia, Joko Widodo visited the inaugural Wintor export in Division of the Engineering Development Center of PT Astra Otoparts in Cikarang, West Java.
Not only Wintor, one of the nine Astra foundations, Dharma Bhakti Astra Foundation (YDBA) helped to enliven GIIAS by establishing industrial tree booth and YDBA partner product exhibition. YDBA focuses on the empowerment of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and to date has had 9,828 partners and is able to absorb 63,205 workers.
