    Election Supervisory Board Appealed Community to Monitor Local Elections Since Early

    BANDUNG-Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) West Java Province appealed to the public to participate oversee since the early stages of the implementation process of Election of Regional Head (Election) West Java 2018.

    Coordinator of Law and Legislation Division of West Java Election Supervisory Board Violations, Yusuf Kurnia said that the essence of sovereignty is in the hands of the people therefore the implementation of the elections is a public right not in the hands of the Election Commission (KPU) or Election Supervisory Board.

    "We want to restore public awareness that Regional Head Election is public property," Yusuf told reporters in Bandung, Thursday (9/11/2017)

    He explained that in some elections still found some violations. for that, West Java Election Supervisory Board wants to educate the public in order to suppress the potential violations that occurred in the elections.

    "Because the prevention of violations of Regional Head Election is far more important than the action," Yusuf stressed.

    West Java Election Supervisory Board is also committed to continue to socialize Regional Head Election because law enforcement in the General Election is the last option.

    In addition, the objective is to involve the community from the beginning in the implementation of the elections so that the involvement of the community is not limited to visiting the Voting Place (TPS) in exercising its constitutional rights but jointly supervising since the early stages of the implementation of West Java local elections.
