BANDUNG-West Java Provincial Government plans to hold Istisqa prayers or pray for rain on Friday, October 6, 2018 at the Gasibu Bandung field.
West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil said to prevent the widespread impact of drought that hit various regions in West Java, spiritual methods must also be pursued.
"We will carry out the Istisqa prayer too, we will find world affairs, spiritually, we hope that it can maximize our efforts. Afdolnya on Friday, maybe in Gasibu," said the Governor in Gedung Sate, Wednesday (3/10 / 18)
Istisqa Prayer will be attended by West Java Provincial Government employees and the community is also expected to attend the prayer.
Emil, greeting Ridwan Kamil, said that based on his observations, a number of large rivers in West Java experienced drought. The water depth of the Jatiluhur reservoir has also shrunk more than 8 meters. Even the Jatigede reservoir has already seen its base.
"yesterday, I have observed from the air, as long as I see dry rivers, the Jatiluhur reservoir has shrunk more than 8 meters, Jatigede has also fallen and even the former village has been seen again," he said.
Emil appealed to the community to save and be wiser in using water.
"The first appeal, citizens to save water, use it as carefully as possible," he said.
In addition, it has also instructed the Local Water Supply Utility (PDAM) to provide water tank programs in the drought area. Emil will also coordinate with Meteorology Climatology and Geophysics Council (BMKG) related to this drought phenomenon and things to watch out for.
"While I will also check with BMKG this trend is normal or there are natural phenomena that we need to be aware of," he said.
