BANDUNG-Padjadjaran University (UNPAD) once again held the annual traditional sports competition event which took place on Saturday (9/9). UNPAD Rector Tri Hanggono Achmad officially opened the 10th Traditional Sport Olympiad (Ootrad) at Jati Stadium Jatinangor Padjadjaran Campus.
The traditional sports competition which is part of the 60th Unpad Anniversary series is attended by academicians, education personnel, partners, and the general public.
"This year we strategically realize what has been committed to build culture and diversity," said Rector when giving speeches.
Carrying the theme of "Harmony in Diversity", this Ootrad is a reflection of the theme of the 60th Unpad Dies Natalis "Synergy Unpad and West Java for Indonesia". Variety of diversity is seen from bringing cultural identity from various regions in Indonesia through costumes worn by the leaders of universities and faculty.
Not only costumes, every faculty contingent also showcases the various characteristic and traditional art from several regions in Indonesia. A total of 30 provincial contingents are represented by various faculties, work units, and unpad partners and communities around West Java.
The opening of the Ootrad title was conducted with several activities, namely Cikalong's skill performance, pushing the ball with a stick together, gigantic gasing, torching competition by the Rector, and the Unpad kite flight.
