    Garut Ready to Supply Rice Needs in West Java and National


    GARUT- Ongoing harvest and absorption of grain farmers in the village of Karangsari, District Pangatikan, Garut regency. This harvest almost simultaneously in the area of West Java. This harvest is previously carried out in a number of other agricultural land in Garut.

    Banun stated, the first harvest movement was implemented in Cianjur regency, then Sukabumi regency, after Garut held a harvest in Tasikmalaya regency and last in Ciamis regency in January 2018.

    The harvests carried out, said Banun, are areas that produce large amounts of rice per harvest. "West Java is the three provinces of rice centers in Indonesia," he said, Wednesday (23/1/2018).

    Banun hopes the farmers to maintain their farm production, in order to run well. "Do not get a little price, the farmers sell other vendors, with the sale value to the government that will feel not only the farmers but the whole community, and will be felt by us for us all," he said.

    Banun invites TNI, Bank BNI, and other banks to synergize the objectives in helping farmers in various aspects, so as to further improve the welfare of farmer heroes.

    Plt. Head of Agriculture Office of Garut Regency, Ir. Beni Yoga added that the local government continues to focus on developing farmers to produce organic rice, while only two farmer groups are switching to organic rice cultivation. "Farmers' groups have turned to organic rice for added value, with the help of BUMDes," said Beni.
