BANDUNG - West Java Regional Police (Polda) will fully support the tasks of the West Java Inflation Control Team (TPID) in suppressing inflation ahead of the entry of Ramadan.
West Java Police Chief Insp. Gen Agung Budi Maryoto said it would conduct direct checks on commodity-producing centers and strategies for storage of nine basic commodities (sembako).
"Inflation Control Team is chaired by the Governor of West Java Ahmad Heryawan and we monitor the availability of strategic commodities such as rice, onions to the commodity-producing regions so there is no monopoly," he said.
According to Agung, with the smooth distribution of strategic commodities from distributors or farmers to consumers, it is expected that the community as consumers will easily get it to meet their needs at low prices.
"If the price of basic foods in accordance with our market is not problem, if we find out the hoarding process will be according to the rules, we are what the problem," said Agung to www.Jabarprov.go.id. (Parno)
