    Livestock Contests Support Food Security


    TASIKMALAYA CITY- The Daily Implementer (Pj) of West Java Governor, Mochamad Iriawan give appreciation with the holding of Livestock Competition West Java-37 Year 2018 which took place at Dadaha Field Jln Lingkar Dadaha No. 246 Cihideung, Tasikmalaya City, from Wednesday (18/07) to Thursday (19/07).

    According to M. Iriawan, Livestock Contest organized by Food and Livestock Service Office of West Java Province is quite strategic in an effort to improve the quality of livestock community in West Java.

    "I appreciate this strategic activity to improve the quality of livestock," said M.Iriawan in his speech.

    M. Iriawan hoped that this livestock contest can also help promote the farmers in West Java, so that they can succeed in their sector, and able to support the government's food security program.

    "With this livestock contest, breeders can progress and succeed, producing quality and competitive production and able to support food security," he said.

    M. Iriawan also expects, the farmers can increase the production of livestock, especially cattle that are still lacking in West Java compared to other provinces in Java.

    "Production of sheep and poultry in West Java is quite high, but for cattle still to be improved, compared to other provinces, West Java can only produce up to 420 thousand cattle, Central Java are 1.2 million, while East Java 4 million head per year," he said. (Parno)
