BANDUNG - The security of the West Java region approaching the Asian Games 2018 which will take place from August 18 is still conducive. This was stated by the West Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Agung Budi Maryoto, in a troop degree ceremony in order to Safeguard the XVIII Asian Games in 2018 on Gasibu Bandung, Friday (03/08).
According to Agung, the readiness for security ahead of after the Asian Games was confirmed to run optimally and ask the community to report if they find a situation, individual or group that leads to radicalism.
"West Java is safe, I also ask the public to immediately report and provide information to Babinsa, Babinkamtibmas if there is a potential towards radicalism," he said.
Agung stated that for the safeguarding of the 2018 Asian Games it would involve 10,188 joint personnel spread in some venues such as in Bandung Regency, Bogor Regency, Majalengka Regency and Subang Regency.
"10,188 security personnel, each consisting of 1,400 TNI personnel, 7,900 Polri personnel and the remainder combined from Sat Pol PP, Dinas Damkar,with a focus on the main threats are namely the bombing and rioting between supporters.
According to Agung, security during the 2018 Asian Games will not only affect the participants, but also for the security of the wider community, especially those who are entrepreneurs.
"The guarantee of security will have a positive impact on the economy of the community to the world of tourism where many tourists will come," he said. (Parno)
