    PIN Targeting 143 Thousand Toddlers in Indramayu

    INDRAMAYU-The National Immunisation Week (PIN) in Indramayu will be targeting 143,008 children aged 0-59 months. The declaration of PIN for Polio in Indramayu was held at the Indramayu Square, Monday (03/07/16).

    Polio immunisations will be held simultaneously throughout Indonesia for a week starting on March  8 to 15, 2016 by targeting all children 0-59 months regardless of their immunisation status. While the service time of Polio immunisations in each post will be started from 08.00 s.d. 12:00. Polio immunisations services can be obtained at health centres, integrated health post (Posyandu), Mobile Pos, public hospital, and private hospital.

    Indramayu Regent Hj. Anna Sophanah as reported by the Public Relations and Protocol Secretariat of Indramayu explained Polio immunisations is supplementary polio immunisation to the toddlers regardless their previous immunisation status.

    Polio immunisations aimed to reduce the risk of transmission of polio virus from another country, ensure community to the immunity against polio disease and provide optimal protection to the toddlers on the possible emergence of polio cases.

    Polio is a disease of the central system caused by polio virus. Clinically, polio targeting the children under 15 years with the acute paralysis withered.

    "The spread of this disease through human waste contaminated. Paralysis begins with symptoms of fever, muscle pain and paralysis at the first week of illness. then may occurred due to paralysis of the respiratory muscles that not overcame soon,” said Anna.

    Hj. Anna Sophanah shed some vaccines to a numbers of toddlers in 31 districts which are accompanied by their parents. She also honoured the health cadres from 31 districts.
