RAKORNAS PB, Strengthen Technology Development Cooperation in the Disaster Sector

PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The National Disaster Management Coordination Meeting (Rakornas PB) was held in Bandung City, Wednesday (24/4/2024). The National Coordination Meeting which was preceded by a commission meeting agenda on the first day, Tuesday (23/4) was attended by all elements of the pentahelix.

This year's event with the theme "Technology Development and Innovation in Disaster Management" produced several important points which became the results of this year's National Coordination Meeting.

BNPB Main Secretary Rustian said that the formulation included strengthening cooperation between parties in developing technology and innovation in the disaster sector by paying attention to disaster risk characteristics, local wisdom and resource availability in order to encourage technological industrialization in the disaster sector.

Then improve the quality and fulfillment of Minimum Service Standards (SPM) for the Disaster Sub-Affairs through collaboration and partnership initiatives based on the SPM Fulfillment Action Plan and encourage provincial/district/city BPBDs to work together with Bappeda to synchronize regional disaster management programs and budgets so that they are in line with central planning (BNPB).

Another formulation result is strengthening emergency and logistics governance and improving the integrated disaster preparedness system in an information technology-based system.

Encouraging the implementation of One Indonesian Disaster Data (SDBI) as big data in the implementation of disaster management and monitoring and evaluation of the national disaster management system in a comprehensive and measurable manner in line with the commitment to accelerate the digitalization of government services.

In addition, building the commitment of provincial/district/city BPBDs to disseminate public complaints regarding issues in the field of electronic-based disaster management to realize accountability for disaster management and increase public trust.

Also encouraging the formation of emergency response mechanisms at the regional level through the formation of Multisector Rapid Response Teams (TRC) at the Provincial and Regency/City Levels (based on Minister of Home Affairs Letter Number 360/1809/BAK, dated April 4 2022).

Meanwhile, the West Java BPBD moved quickly to handle the tornado disaster in Cimaung, Bandung Regency, and land movement in Purwakarta Regency.

The tornado occurred on Wednesday (24/4) evening at around 20.39 WIB in Kampung Tinggar Jaya Hilir and Jalan Raya Pangalengan, Cimaung District, Bandung Regency.

The wind disaster damaged at least 30 houses with heavy damage and 35 houses with light damage.

The West Java Province BPBD is coordinating with the Bandung Regency BPBD to carry out an assessment at the disaster location.

In Purwakarta, Purwakarta Regency BPBD received a report of land movement on Wednesday (24/4) in Cirangkong Village, Pasanggrahan Village, Tegalwaru District, which occurred on Friday (19/4), last week.

Ground movement occurred due to high intensity rainfall at the location of the incident.

As a result, 4 houses were reported to have suffered light damage, 2 houses had moderate damage, and 2 others were seriously damaged.

Apart from that, the road access from Cirangkong Village to Panyindangan Village is cut off and impassable to vehicles.

The West Java BPBD has coordinated with the Purwakarta Regency BPBD to carry out an assessment through direct inspection of the disaster location.

The West Java BPBD also coordinated with village officials, local sub-districts and related agencies to unload heavy equipment.

The public is also advised to remain vigilant because land movement still has the potential to spread.
