PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Secretariat General (Setjen) of the DPR RI held a Bakohumas Thematic Forum entitled "Redesign of the DPR RI Website: Welcoming the 2024-2029 Period", in the Abdul Muis room, DPR RI Nusantara Building, Jakarta City, Friday (3/5/ 2024).

This forum presented resource persons as the Head of the DPR RI Information and Technology Center, Drs. Djaka Dwi Winarko and Dr. Sri Haryati as Head of the Information Management Section of the Public Relations Bureau and KSI of the Financial Audit Agency of the Republic of Indonesia.

This thematic forum was opened by the Chairman of the House of Representatives Agency (BURT) of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Agung Budi Santoso, by delivering a keynote speech as a form of the DPR RI's commitment to continue to improve information services to the public through the DPR RI website.

"The DPR website must be designed to be attractive and filled with content that suits the needs of the community so that the website is more informative and participatory for the community," said Agung.

This activity aims to socialize the new appearance of the DPR RI website which is more user friendly, informative and participatory.

By having a website channel that makes it easier for the public to access information related to DPR RI products, this will increase public trust in the DPR RI.

The website redesign carried out by the Secretariat General of the DPR RI is an implementation of Law Number 14 of 2008 concerning Openness of Public Information which states that the right to obtain information and openness of information are characteristics of a democratic country that upholds the sovereignty of the people.

As is known, 2024 is the year for the new DPR RI membership period which has been elected in the 2024 legislative elections.

Secretary General of the DPR RI Indra Iskandar took the initiative to update the appearance of the DPR RI website, considering the public's great need for information related to the DPR RI institution.

Indra explained that by presenting an easy and modern appearance it would increase public participation in the democratic system through the DPR RI institution.

"We hope that with the DPR Website Redesign it can become a forum for people's aspirations so that public users can experience new and different experiences which are of course experiences that suit user needs (user friendly)," he said.

Also present were the Director General of Public Communication Information at the Ministry of Communication and Information, Usman Kansong as chairman of Bakohumas, Secretary General of the DPR RI Indra Iskandar and officials within the Secretariat General of the DPR RI.
