PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. BOGOR - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin invited all teaching staff to make National Education Day a momentum so that children can learn comfortably without bullying.

Bey Machmudin said this after the 2024 National Education Day (Hardiknas) commemoration ceremony at the West Java Provincial Level at Sempur Field, Bogor City, Thursday (2/5/2024).

The National Education Day in Bogor City was very lively with colossal dance performances from students attended by teachers and teaching staff from elementary, middle school, to high school/vocational school levels.

"West Java provincial level national education day was celebrated in the city of Bogor and thank God it was carried out lively. The most important message is how children get an education. Our commitment is to stop bullying and we will continue Independent Learning," said Bey Machmudin.

According to Bey, in the era of fast-paced globalization, it is important to provide children with more varied soft skills in order to hone their creativity and endurance in responding to developments over time.

"Children, apart from studying at school, have to be creative. In the era of globalization, they are not just smart enough but they also have to be creative to compete internationally," he added.

In order to advance education, the West Java Provincial Government is committed to bringing complete formal schools to remote areas to ensure that all children can go to school.

"It is true that there are still sub-districts (in West Java) that don't have schools because we have limited budgets. But we continue to try our best, we continue to pursue education," said Bey.

At the 2024 National Education Day commemoration at Bogor's Sempur Field, Bey gave awards to students and educational staff who were deemed to have a creative spirit, both in the academic field and artistic and sports talents.

"Earlier there were children who were fencing champions and piano champions who were given awards. This means that now we are required to make children creative and innovative," he concluded.
