PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. BEKASI - The Bekasi District Government, through the Bekasi Regency Culture, Youth and Sports Service (Disbudpora), has launched an educational assistance program for the first time in Bekasi Regency youth who excel at high school and equivalent levels this year.

This was conveyed by the Acting Regent of Bekasi Dani Ramdan, after closing the 2024 Ramadan Festival (Ramfest) 3.0 in the Juang 45 Building Museum Yard, Jl. Sultan Hasanudin South Tambun, on Sunday (31/3/2024).

Dani Ramdan said that the program was called "Bekasi Berani Pintar" which was aimed at SMA/SMK/MA graduates who excelled in academic and non-academic fields who would continue their undergraduate education at tertiary institutions.

"Hopefully, with educational assistance for outstanding youth, more and more children from Bekasi Regency can become national champions, develop independence through their creative efforts and can fill positions in government and companies," said Dani Ramdan.

This program, added Dani, aims to enable Bekasi Regency youth to pursue higher level education. So that in the future we can produce a superior, high-quality and competent generation.

Head of the Bekasi Regency Culture, Youth and Sports Service (Disbudpora), Iman Nugraha, added that this educational assistance program was opened for 100 young people with achievements in academic and non-academic fields. This program prioritizes youth or underprivileged residents who have competence and achievement.

"This program will prioritize economically disadvantaged youth. Later we will have a selection team, where this year approximately 100 youth will be accepted to continue their undergraduate studies," he said.

Iman added that registration for this program will open in July 2024. For this reason, it is very open to outstanding youth in Bekasi Regency, especially to underprivileged youth.

"The educational assistance that will be provided per year is IDR 10 million and additional monthly transportation money is approximately IDR 500 thousand," he explained. (Diskominfo Bekasi Regency/Fauziah)
