PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. BOGOR - To eliminate cases of the spread of Tuberculosis (TBC), the Bogor Regional Government, in this case the Health Service, Sukaraja District Government, Sukaraja Community Health Center collaborated with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in collaboration with Village Cadres in the Sukaraja District area, to intensively provide education to community how to prevent TB through Tuberculosis Prevention Therapy (TPT), which took place in the Sukaraja Community Health Center Hall, Friday (26/4/2024).

Representative of the Tuberculosis Working Team, Bogor District Health Office, Rahmi, said that the socialization of tuberculosis prevention through the TPT program today also included training for Village Cadres as well as Village Government officials who were the special location for TB elimination intervention.

"Hopefully, through this activity we can strengthen synergy and cooperation in supporting the prevention of Tuberculosis through TPT," said Rahmi.

In the same place, the Head of the Sukaraja Community Health Center, Luh Putu Nursantini, said that to accelerate the reduction of Tuberculosis rates in Indonesia, collaboration and synergy with all parties is needed, one of which is through developing Village Cadres as Tuberculosis Cadres.

"The role of Village Cadres is to be the spearhead to help break the chain of spread of Tuberculosis bacteria. "By always actively providing education, motivation and assistance to the community in carrying out prevention," explained the Head of Sukaraja Community Health Center.

Then, USAID Indonesia District Head of Advocacy and Partnership Officer, Sherly said, a new way to prevent Tuberculosis is by taking medication for household contacts with Tuberculosis sufferers which is being promoted not only in Indonesia but also internationally.

"This is a continuation of collaboration with the Bogor Regency Government which has previously been carried out since December 2023," he added

Secretary of Sukaraja, Arif Santosa, explained that Village Tuberculosis Cadres play a role in helping medical personnel. Village TB Cadres as agents of change for the community are expected to be able to educate and provide understanding to the community on how to prevent Tuberculosis. Both in the family and community environment.

"So that people can practice TPT to prevent exposure to Tuberculosis bacteria. For this reason, I invite all cadres to work hand in hand in collaboration to reduce the number of TB infections in our environment so that we can become healthy people," said Secretary Sukaraja.
