PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - Garut Regional Secretary (Sekda) Nurdin Yana led the 28th Regional Autonomy Day Ceremony in 2024 at the Garut Regency level. This year's Regional Autonomy Day is entitled "Sustainable Regional Autonomy Towards a Green Economy and Healthy Environment".

This activity took place at the Garut Regional Secretariat (Setda) Field, Jalan Pembangunan, Tarogong Kidul District, Garut Regency, Thursday (25/4/2024).

The Garut Regional Secretary revealed that in this commemoration his party had prepared several things related to development in Garut Regency, one of which was improving the economy based on a green environment in accordance with this year's theme.

"With the concept of a green economy, there will actually be several benefits that will be gained not only by us but by everyone, including other living creatures in our circle," said the Garut Regional Secretary.

In accordance with the direction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) of the Republic of Indonesia, continued Nurdin, the public is expected to prioritize efficient energy use.

According to him, people can use renewable energy, not conventional energy from fossil fuel sources.

"It will not be renewable, it will run out someday, so he instructed district/city governments, for example, to also use electric-based vehicles, so that no other emissions come out of the vehicle," he continued.

Finally, he asked that the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) within the Garut Regency Government be able to address several problems that exist in Garut Regency, one of which is poverty alleviation.

"That must (be) our targeting, then be wiser in the use of exploration of PAD which has the connotation of providing a sense of security to all parties, including living creatures on earth," he concluded. (Diskominfo Garut/Revo)
