PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman asked the Bandung Basin Management Agency (Cekban) and the Rebana Management Agency to improve their performance because the challenges will be more difficult and complex.

When met after receiving an audience with BP Rebana and BP Cekban at Gedung Sate Bandung, Herman said that so far the two management bodies had done their job well, but he also entrusted several things to be immediately accelerated.

"Earlier I received a report on what has been done and is being done and what BP Rebana and BP Cekban will do. I think these two management bodies have done their job well, but the challenges ahead will be more difficult and complex," said Herman Suryatman, Friday (19/4/2024).

Herman encourages BP Cekban to progress and be sustainable in all aspects. Such as aspects of transportation, waste management, waste, infrastructure, public services, including smart cities.

This is so that residents in the Cekban area get better, faster and cheaper service.

"This year's focus for Cekban, as requested by the Acting Governor, is related to transportation, infrastructure, waste management, waste, basic services, those must be priorities," he requested.

According to Herman, this needs to be supported by better governance and institutions.

"This must be revitalized, both its governance and institutions, that's why we are carrying out an evaluation," he said.

Specifically for BP Rebana, Herman asked to develop marketable investments. Investors, he continued, are very careful in calculating investments. Therefore, an attractive investment offer is needed, especially as Rebana has enormous potential to offer.

"Rebana's investment potential is really cool and once you talk to investors you have to make it clear that they will calculate it carefully. That's why we have to prepare it well so that it can be marketable and can be bought by investors to invest in the Rebana area," he explained.

So far, Herman assesses that the two management bodies have made progress but still need to continue to improve.

"I feel that because I was the Regional Secretary and Acting Regent of Sumedang, Jatinangor was part of Cekban and north of Sumedang was part of Rebana. Even though there has been progress, there are still things that need to be improved," he concluded.
