PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - The Bekasi Regency Government inaugurated 1,251 Garuda Scouts on May 4, 2026 at the Bekasi Regency Government Plaza to strengthen the character of the young generation to be disciplined and high-achieving.

Bekasi Regency Regional Secretary, Endin Samsudin, said that the Garuda Scouts were the highest achievement obtained through a long and consistent process.

"Becoming a Garuda Scout is no easy feat. It requires dedication to meeting both general and specific skill requirements, as well as consistency in demonstrating attitudes and behaviors that reflect the noble values of scouting," said Endin.

This inauguration is an acknowledgement of the participants' dedication in developing their abilities and character.

Garuda Scouts are encouraged to be role models in their families, schools and communities through discipline and independence.

"I hope that the Garuda Scouts will be able to become a superior generation that not only achieves, but also has strong character and is ready to face future challenges," said Endin.

Garuda Scout status opens up broader educational opportunities, including priority entry to college without a test.

"This opportunity must be optimally utilized, both by students and with support from schools and frontline groups," said Endin.

This activity provides real benefits to the community by producing a young generation with character and ready to compete in the future.

The inauguration was attended by Scouts from the Siaga, Penggalang, Penegak, to Pandega levels as part of the tiered development.

The Bekasi Regency Government is encouraging the continued strengthening of Scouting development so that more young people can achieve and contribute to the region.
