PORTALJABAR, CIMAHI CITY - At the end of 2023, the West Java Provincial Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM Jabar) has closed the entire series of Government Employee Orientation activities with Work Agreements (PPPK), which was attended by 11,895 ASN in 15 waves and 300 batches.

Head of the West Java BPSDM Managerial Competency Development Division, Asep Saepulah, explained that the largest number of orientation participants was a challenge in itself for the West Java BPSDM.

"2023 will be the first year that PPPK orientation activities will be implemented in Indonesia, since the policy of appointing ASN is no longer dominated by Civil Servants (PNS). The number of PPPK orientation participants at BPSDM West Java is the largest, which is a challenge that is not easy. "The successful implementation is the real result of collaboration and cohesiveness of the BPSDM team and Widyaiswara in West Java," said Asep.

Head of West Java BPSDM, Hery Antasari, explained that a total of more than 20,000 ASNs had graduated from various ASN competency development programs at West Java BPSDM.

"In addition to approximately 12,000 PPPK orientation participants, at West Java BPSDM there are also around 8000 alumni of general and core technical training, as well as managerial training during 2023. In total, more than 20,000 ASNs have graduated from various ASN competency development programs at West Java BPSDM, including Latsar "CPNS, PKP, PKA, PKN," explained Hery Antasari in front of participants at the 2023 Budget Evaluation and Training Implementation Coordination Meeting on Thursday (29/12/2023).

Hery specifically expressed his thanks and very high appreciation to the Widyaiswara students, because they have worked extra hard to serve the competency development needs of tens of thousands of ASNs within the Provincial to Regency-City Governments in West Java.

"All ASN in West Java must understand and carry out competency development obligations which must be fulfilled every year in accordance with the mandate of Law Number 20 of 2023," he said.

"This is different from the old regulations that were stated in Law No. 5 of 2014 which were only encouraging. With the implementation of this new policy, in 2024 and beyond every ASN in West Java must be more active in looking for opportunities to join self-development classes which is offered and organized by West Java BPSDM," added Hery Antasari.
