PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - Chairman of the Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) of Garut Regency, Ahmad Nurul Syahid, officially inaugurated 126 District Election Supervisory Committees (Panwascam) throughout Garut Regency.

This activity took place in the Banyu Alam Resort Hotel Ballroom, Jalan Cipanas, Tarogong Kaler District, Garut Regency, Friday (24/5/2024),

This inauguration is the initial stage of inaugurating the sub-district level election supervisory committee, which will later be carried out in stages at the village/sub-district level up to the polling place (TPS) level.

Head of the National Unity and Politics Agency (Bakesbangpol) of Garut Regency, Nurrodhin, said that the election organizers, namely Bawaslu and the General Election Commission (KPU), are two very important elements in organizing the Regional Head Election (Pilkada) which will be held on November 27 2024.

Nurrodhin assessed that the dynamics of holding these regional elections will certainly be more dynamic than the legislative elections which were held last February.

"The most important note is how the work team in the field, both KPU and Bawaslu, can actually carry out their main tasks and functions, and follow the applicable rules and regulations, both for Bawaslu and for the KPU," he said.

According to him, monitoring activities in the legislative elections in Garut Regency went well and smoothly, as evidenced by the small number of lawsuits related to the implementation of the elections.

He hopes that the performance of the Election Supervisory Committee (Panwaslu) at various levels can work optimally in the upcoming regional elections.

"We really hope that the performance of the Panwaslu, both for the district Bawaslu, sub-district Panwaslu, then later PKD at the village level, up to PTPS at the TPS level, will work optimally, thereby minimizing problems related to lawsuits regarding the implementation of the Regional Election," he hoped.

Meanwhile, Garut Regency Bawaslu Chairman Ahmad Nurul Syahid said that the appointed Panwascam was produced through two methods, namely through the evaluation results of the 2024 Election Panwascam and through recruitment.

The results of the evaluation in question are that the 2024 Election Panwascam was evaluated so that there were two categories, namely meeting the requirements (MS) and not meeting the requirements (TMS).

"There are around 71 MS people, then there are 55 TMS people, then to fill the vacancies there are 55 TMS people, that's why we opened recruitment in several sub-districts with a total of 55 people, finally the results today were appointed," he explained.

The closest task of the Panwascam, added Ahmad, is recruiting the Subdistrict or Village Supervisory Committee (PKD), then preparing the secretariat, and carrying out the stages of voter data collection.

"The message for Panwascam friends who were inaugurated today is to maintain integrity and improve quality in understanding existing regulations, so that in carrying out their duties and authority they will not go outside the regulations," he concluded. (Diskominfo Garut/Revo)
