PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - As many as 15,000 women from various regions in West Java officially graduated at the 2024 West Java Girls' School Graduation Ceremony at Sport Jabar Arcamanik, Bandung City, Tuesday (12/24/2024).

Graduation participants were present on site and those who participated online. This event was also part of the commemoration of the 96th Mother's Day at the West Java Provincial Level.

The Chairperson of the West Java Women's School, Amanda Soemedi Bey Machmudin, together with the Regional Secretary of West Java, Herman Suryatman, were present to give appreciation to the graduates who had successfully completed this women's empowerment program.

In his speech, Herman said that women have a central role as the main pillars for the nation, family and society.

"Without mothers, it is impossible for West Java and this Republic to progress. Women must be present 24/7 in the midst of the family because a great family begins with great mothers," he said.

Herman also emphasized that the West Java Provincial Government is committed to supporting the strengthening of women's capacity in 27 districts/cities.

"We want West Java women to be the driving force in realizing Golden Indonesia 2045. If mothers move, then everyone will move," he added.

Herman also highlighted the major challenges facing West Java, one of which is the divorce rate which will reach 90,000 cases in 2023.

"Of that number, 70,000 are divorce lawsuits. This is our shared responsibility to improve the condition of families in West Java," he said.

The graduates are expected to become agents of change in society, provide education, and help strengthen family unity in West Java.

He added that Golden Indonesia will not be achieved without struggle and West Java must be a pioneer.

"It starts with great families, led by great mothers," he said.

Herman also hopes that the graduation of the West Java Women's School can motivate women in West Java to continue to contribute to development and become an inspiration for families, communities, and the nation.
