PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - PT PLN West Java Distribution Unit (PLN UID Jabar) is ready to support the Government in distributing economic stimulus packages in the form of a 50% electricity tariff discount to more than 15 million household customers with a capacity of 2,200 and below in West Java. This program is expected to maintain people's purchasing power, especially the household sector which plays a major role in national economic growth.

General Manager of PLN UID Jabar Agung Murdifi said that the mechanism to get electricity tariff discounts is very easy. Customers do not need to register or register because electricity tariff discounts will be automatically obtained by customers.

"I ensure that the electricity tariff discount distribution mechanism will run right on target and will automatically be obtained by customers because the PLN service system has been digitized. During the subscription, households with 2200 VA and below will immediately get a discount, without the hassle of any registration," said Agung, Wednesday (1/1/2025).

Agung explained that the 50% electricity tariff discount for postpaid customers will automatically apply when customers enjoy electricity in the January and February periods. The amount of the electricity tariff discount will be known to postpaid customers after the calculation of the customer's electricity usage for a month is complete and the electricity bill comes out on the 1st of the following month.

"This discount will automatically reduce the electricity usage costs for January paid on the February bill and reduce the electricity usage costs for February paid on the March bill," he said.

Meanwhile, prepaid customers will immediately get a 50 percent discount when customers make electricity token purchases either at PLN Mobile, at retailers, at agents, and anywhere during the same period. Customers only need to buy half (50%) to get the same energy (kWh).

Agung detailed that 15,683,522 household customers who will enjoy electricity tariff discounts consist of 5,960,327 postpaid customers and 9,723,195 prepaid customers.

"This program will be enjoyed by 89.57 percent of total customers in West Java," said Agung.

Furthermore, Agung hopes that the people of West Java can enjoy and make the best use of electricity and for productive activities so that they can improve their welfare and economy.
