PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - A total of 174 illegal buildings (bangli) standing on Road Ownership Space (Rumija) along Jalan Terusan Pasirkoja, Bandung City, were the targets of a joint operation held on Wednesday (17/6/2026).

This activity involves various elements of government and security forces to restore the function of road space according to its intended use.

The enforcement operation will be carried out on the left side of Jalan Terusan Pasirkoja, specifically at the Pasirkoja Toll Gate exit. The operation is scheduled to last three days, from June 17 to 19, 2026.

The activity began with a joint roll call led directly by the Commander of the Indonesian Navy Base (Danlanal) in Bandung City, Colonel Irfan.

Head of the Bandung City Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), Bambang Sukardi, said that there were around 174 illegal buildings that were the target of the clean-up.

"The illegal building demolition effort at Pasirkoja Canal was carried out over three days. The target for demolition was approximately 174 illegal buildings," said Bambang.

At least 250 personnel were deployed to the field during the activity. These personnel came from the West Java Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), the Bandung City Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), the West Java Provincial Public Works Agency, and regional agencies.

The demolition was carried out using two units of heavy equipment in the form of backhoes to speed up the demolition process.

By the first day of implementation, officers had successfully demolished approximately 70 illegal structures on the left side of Jalan Terusan Pasirkoja. The demolition process was carried out in stages, with security from all involved parties.

Bambang explained that this activity aims to restore the function of Road Ownership Space (Rumija) so that it can be used as intended. Furthermore, the cleanup is also part of efforts to organize the area to make it more orderly and safe.

"The demolition activities on the first day proceeded smoothly, safely, and conducively. All elements involved worked well together, ensuring the demolition process went according to plan," he said.

This joint operation will continue until all buildings on the target list have been completely razed.

After the cleanup is complete, the Pasirkoja Canal area is expected to return to its optimal function as a road space and support the smooth flow of community activities. (Bandung City Communications and Information Office)
