PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - The prestigious Pasanggiri Mojang Jajaka (Mosque of the Young Women) competition in Garut Regency 2026 has officially entered the audition stage. The selection process for these talented young men and women was held at the Garut Art Center Building in Tarogong Kidul District, Garut Regency, on Sunday (11/10/2026).
At this year's event, Pasanggiri Mojang Jajaka carries the theme "Niti Harti, Nanjeur Bukti", which means the process of seeking knowledge and understanding, to then stand tall and provide real evidence through works and positive contributions to the region.
Nurman Purnama Gumilar, Head of the Garut Regency Mojang Jajaka Association, explained that this year's competition is divided into two main categories: Adults and Teenagers. The enthusiasm of Garut's youth is very high, as evidenced by the 176 registered participants.
"It is dominated by the youth category at 60 percent, and the remaining 40 percent comes from the adult category," said Nurman.
Nurman further explained that participants must go through a rigorous selection process during the audition stage, including a written test, an in-depth interview, and a talent show. From this stage, successful participants will advance to the semifinals, where they will be selected as finalists, consisting of 10 pairs in the Adult Category and 10 pairs in the Teen Category.
"After the semifinals, there's a pre-quarantine period, material provided, and social project assignments. This is to gauge the finalists' thinking skills and mindset after being provided with the material, which they will then present," he explained.
In closing, Nurman expressed his hope that the 2026 Pasanggiri Mojang Jajaka (Mosques) in Garut Regency will not only produce Tourism and Cultural Ambassadors, but will also produce individuals who will truly become the Face of Garut, representing the best youth in the Regency.
