PORTALJABAR, KARAWANG REGENCY - A total of 18 villages in 18 districts were designated as Public Service Friendly Villages, Wednesday (18/9/2024).

These 18 villages were chosen as examples in providing good and efficient public services to the community.

It is hoped that public service-friendly villages will be able to play their role as pioneers in innovative public services, supporting the great goal of West Java as the leading province in Indonesia.

The launch was carried out in a Declaration of Public Service Friendly Villages and a Public Service Festival at Anker Field, East Karawang, Karawang Regency, Wednesday (18/9/2024).

West Java Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman emphasized that villages are the main foundation of provincial development.

"A strong village will definitely have a strong sub-district, a strong sub-district will definitely have a strong regency. A strong regency will definitely have a strong West Java. Long live the village!" exclaimed Herman Suryatman followed by cheers from the audience.

According to him, to achieve an advanced West Java, collaboration and mutual cooperation between the provincial government and district governments must continue to be strengthened.

Initiatives must start from the villages because provincial progress will be meaningless without strong support from the villages within it.

"Great West Java must start from the village, because West Java is an aggregate. No matter how great we are in the province, without sub-districts and villages, it means nothing," said Herman.

Herman reminded of the three main tasks of government, namely development, empowerment, and service.

"Are the people prosperous, independent, and getting justice? These three things are the measure of the government's success," he said.

Herman invited all elements in the village to work together to improve performance, in order to achieve the target of the 2025 West Java RPJPD, namely West Java to become the most advanced province in Indonesia.

One thing that needs to be prevented immediately is stunting, where the prevalence of stunting in West Java is 21.7 percent or still above the national average of 21.5 percent.

"We must reflect and improve our performance, because we only have 1 year and 4 months left to achieve the target of being the most advanced province in 2025," he concluded.
