PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Central Government is committed to realizing five infrastructure projects in West Java by 2024.
This was revealed when the Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin met the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono at the PUPR Ministry office, Jakarta, Wednesday (28/2/2024).
The five national infrastructure projects are, first, improving the mining road in Parung Panjang, Bogor Regency. Second, construction of the Cileunyi-Garut-Tasikmalaya (Cigatas) toll road.
The third project, repairing and upgrading roads in several districts and cities, has become a Presidential Instruction for Regional Roads.
"The fourth project, related to traffic jams in Bandung City, Mr. Bas (Basuki Hadimuljono) agreed to continue construction of the Bandung Intra Urban Toll Road (BIUTR). Thank God," said Bey Machmudin after the meeting.
The fifth infrastructure project to be built in West Java in 2024, namely accelerating the provision of drinking water and domestic waste water management services which has become a Presidential Instruction.
Bey's meeting with the PUPR Minister was also attended by Director General of Highways Hedy Rahadian, Director General of Human Settlements Diana Kusumastuti, Head of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPUT) Miftachul Munir, and Expert Staff to the Minister for Industrial Technology and the Environment Endra S. Atmawidjaja.
Meanwhile, the West Java Provincial Government was attended by Acting West Java Regional Secretary Taufiq BS and Head of the West Java Highways and Spatial Planning (BMPR) Service Bambang Tirtoyuliono.
Minister Basuki emphasized the PUPR Ministry's commitment to helping accelerate infrastructure development in West Java. Pak Bas -- Basuki Hadimuljono's nickname -- emphasized BIUTR in Bandung City.
"To overcome traffic jams in the city of Bandung, we agreed to continue the Bandung Intra Urban Toll Road," said Basuki.
According to Basuki, the toll road construction project within the city of Bandung has been delayed for almost 17 years and the PUPR Ministry is committed to accelerating implementation by 2024.
"We will auction it immediately, we will continue to overcome traffic jams in Bandung," he concluded.
