PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Water Resources and Highways Service (DSDABM) together with the community and nature lovers held a morning assembly and clean-up in preparation for the Expressing Longing for Cikapundung (Gemericik) event.

This activity took place on Cikapundung Terrace, Thursday (16/5/2024).

This activity is the first step towards the arrangement of the Cikapundung Terrace area which was discussed recently by the Bandung City Government.

At the morning rally, the Daily Acting Regional Secretary for the City of Bandung, Hikmat Ginanjar, advised all elements of the City of Bandung to maintain the extraordinary facilities and potential such as the Cikapundung Terrace.

He said that this activity was the Bandung City Government's commitment to providing public facilities that could be enjoyed together.

"The city of Bandung has been awarded a happiness index and a high life expectancy. We consider that these two things need to be supported by public facilities that are comfortable for all," said Hikmat.

He said that the beautiful atmosphere on the Cikapundung Terrace must be maintained. Large oxygen donations will increase happiness and make residents healthier.

"If we are healthy with a healthy natural atmosphere, abundant oxygen, lead in our bodies will be reduced. And if we manage our hearts and think happily, the beta endorphin hormone will radiate calm," he said.

Hikmat also said that apart from being able to enjoy its beauty, the Cikapundung Terrace area can also be used by the community to activate activities. Starting from art performances, sports (gymnastics), to public discussion activities.

He reminded that the Cikapundung Terrace area, which was so extraordinary at the start of the inauguration period, needs to be reorganized so that it becomes one of the leading tourist destinations.

"Various activities can be carried out here. Let's maximize the potential of Cikapundung Terrace," said Hikmat.

In closing, he invited all parties to maintain public facilities in the city of Bandung so that they could be enjoyed together. Both by residents and tourists visiting the city of Bandung.

"Let's maintain the utilities of this city so that it is beautiful to the eyes," he said.

Meanwhile, Bandung City DSDABM Head Didi Ruswandi said that the Cikapundung Terrace clean-up activity ahead of the Gemericik event involved more than 300 participants. The participants were representatives of UPT and also the community.

Apart from that, it was observed that a number of OPDs were also present in collaboration, starting from Diskar PB and Bandung City Satpol PP, as well as regional officials around Teras Cikapundung. (Diskominfo Bandung City/Revo)
