
PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Mayor of Bandung Bambang Tirtoyuliono confirmed that as many as 41 hospitals in Bandung City are ready to handle the increase in dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) cases.
This was stated by Bambang after chairing the DHF Management Coordination Meeting with Directors and Heads of Hospitals in Bandung City at the Bandung City Hall, Thursday (28/3/2024)
"We as a public service are preparing ourselves to provide excellent service to the community. Today we invite the hospital directors to come together to handle the high number of dengue fever cases. We have agreed that if there is a dengue fever case, our hospital friends will provide space to handled immediately," explained Bambang.
Bambang invited all directors and heads of hospitals in Bandung City to provide excellent health services for the community, especially in handling dengue fever cases in Bandung City.
He also asked hospitals to update their data on dengue fever patients regularly so that the data obtained is valid and real-time so that effective intervention programs can then be implemented.
"As of the third week of March, there has been a decrease in cases compared to the beginning of March. Hopefully the data is valid and real-time, we will build an updated information system," he said.
Meanwhile, Head of the Bandung City Health Service, Anhar Hadian, said that currently the hospital occupancy rate has reached 73.6 percent. He said that several hospitals were dominated by dengue fever patients.
For this reason, Arhan said that there needs to be synergy between the government and hospitals so that there is no spike in dengue fever cases being treated in hospitals.
"The city of Bandung is experiencing a significant increase in dengue fever cases and this is also a burden for hospitals because from the data we have obtained the accuracy of beds in hospitals is currently 73.6 percent, which is actually quite high," he said.
