PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Forty-three prospective civil servants (CPNS) were officially appointed as civil servants (PNS) within the Bandung City Government. The oath-taking ceremony took place at Bandung City Hall on Monday (May 25, 2026), led by Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan.

Farhan said that his new status as a civil servant was not merely an administrative change, but also the beginning of a great responsibility as a civil servant and public servant, especially for the residents of Bandung.

"Today, we begin a status that will make you servants of the state, nation, and citizens of our beloved city of Bandung. This is an important part of your life journey," he said.

Farhan emphasized that by wearing the Korpri emblem on the left chest, civil servants have a significant moral responsibility. He emphasized the importance of maintaining integrity as a core value throughout their service.

"Once again, integrity. I repeat, integrity. Because integrity is our image in the eyes of the public. If integrity is bad, our image will be bad. If integrity is good, our image will be good," he explained.

According to him, public trust is largely determined by the attitudes and behavior of state officials. Therefore, every action and decision must reflect the values of integrity and professionalism.

Furthermore, Farhan also reminded civil servants to be wise in their interactions with the media, both mass and social media. In today's digital age, the flow of unverified information is believed to influence a person's perspective and actions.

"Be wary of media influence. Unverified media coverage can distort reality and reflect our obligations," he said.

He added that, as a state official, every statement or post in the media has significant consequences because it can influence public perception. Therefore, caution and responsibility are required in every activity in the digital space.

On that occasion, Farhan also emphasized the importance of fast and easy public services according to public demands, while still prioritizing rules and ethics.

For this reason, he introduced the “3P” principle which should be a guideline for every civil servant, namely proper, appropriate, and obedient.

"Sometimes speed and convenience can lead us into violations. Therefore, we must always adhere to these 3Ps," he said.

Furthermore, Farhan encouraged civil servants to continue improving their competencies amidst increasingly fierce competition, both with fellow civil servants and professionals in other sectors.

"Never stop learning. The level of competition is getting higher, so we must continue to improve our skills," he said.

Farhan also highlighted Bandung's strategic position as a national hub for education, tourism, and the economy. This situation demands that government officials be adaptive and able to keep up with the dynamics of development.

"Congratulations on this official appointment. Let this be a starting point for your enthusiasm to be the best," he said.
