PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - A total of 438 Hajj pilgrims including 8 officers from Garut Regency have arrived safely in their hometown.

The repatriation procession took place in the Pendopo area, Garut Kota District, Garut Regency, on Sunday (23/6/2024). The return of the Hajj pilgrims was greeted with emotion from the families who had been waiting in the Garut Square and Pendopo areas.

Head of the Hajj and Umrah Organizing Section, Garut Regency Ministry of Religion Office, Indra Azwar Mawardi, explained that the first Hajj pilgrims to arrive in Garut Regency came from Cluster 2, plus one person who returned early (tanazul) from Cluster 16.

"Thank God, today the Hajj Pilgrims from Garut Regency Group 2 are returning home and thank God all the pilgrims are healthy, and for all 438 pilgrims along with the officers," said Indra.

However, Indra also revealed that two pilgrims from Group 2 died while in the holy land, and one congregation canceled their trip due to illness.

"Two people died, one canceled his departure, and there was one tanazul from Kloter 16 to Kloter 2, bringing the total number to 438," he added. From Kloter 16 to Kloter 2, the total number became 438," he added. (Diskominfo Garut/Fauziah)
