PORTALJABAR, BOGOR CITY - Bogor City became the location for the launch of the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) as the Pioneer of the Safe, Healthy, Clean, Beautiful Indonesia (ASRI) Movement held by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) together with the Bogor City Government (Pemkot).

The activity, which took place at Situ Gede, Friday (8/5/2026), was attended by around 700 participants from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Bogor City Government, professional organizations, community organizations, students, and workers.

The participants directly took part in environmental clean-up actions as a form of support for the ASRI Indonesia Movement.

Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim said the Bogor City Government has continued to strengthen waste management from upstream to downstream since the movement was launched.

"Bogor City's waste generation reaches over 1,000 tons per day. Therefore, waste management is carried out starting from waste sorting at the source to processing downstream," he said.

He explained that currently Bogor City has around 230 waste banks and 16 Reduce-Reuse-Recycle Waste Processing Sites (TPS3R).

In addition, the Bogor City Government has also proposed two locations for the construction of Waste-to-Energy Power Plants (PLTSa), with one location having received approval from the central government in the Galuga area.

The Director General of Regional Administration Development at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Safrizal, emphasized that the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) has a strategic role in supporting the ASRI Movement through a humanistic and persuasive approach to the community.

"Satpol PP must be a pioneer of the ASRI Movement by prioritizing a humanistic approach and inviting the public to actively participate in protecting the environment," he said.

This activity was also combined with the commemoration of Labor Day through real actions to maintain cleanliness and environmental sustainability.

Dedie added that the waste problem in Situ Gede does not only come from Bogor City, but also from upstream areas via river flows.

Therefore, he encouraged the strengthening of cross-regional collaboration so that public awareness of not littering continues to increase.

The ASRI Indonesia Movement is expected to become a joint initiative implemented sustainably by all regions to create a clean, healthy, and comfortable environment. (Bogor City Communications and Information Office/rka)
