PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Indonesian Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar RI) has released a list of this year's featured events. After a series of curation stages, 125 events from 38 provinces were selected for the 2026 Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN) program.

Of these, eight were held in West Java. The selected events ranged widely, from music festivals and arts festivals to cultural festivals and traditional ceremonies.

The first event to be held soon is the Cap Go Meh Street Festival in Bogor City. The event is scheduled to take place along Jalan Surya Kencana Bogor in March 2026. The event will not only highlight Chinese cultural traditions but also serve as a platform for various social classes, religions, and arts and cultures across West Java.

Uniquely, this year's Cap Go Meh Street Festival will be held during Ramadan. However, this is considered a good opportunity to strengthen brotherhood amidst diversity.

"Cap Go Meh and Ramadan occur in the same month. We see it as a good opportunity to strengthen tolerance and harmony in one event in Bogor City," said Arifin Himawan, Head of the 2026 Cap Go Meh Street Festival Committee, as quoted by Radar Bogor.

Next up is the Garut Cultural Charm Festival, which will be held in April. This event is one of the efforts of the West Java Provincial Government, Garut Regency Government, communities, and cultural artists to preserve, promote, and introduce regional traditional arts to the younger generation.

Following this, in June, the Bandung City Government is preparing to host the 2026 Asia Africa Festival. This annual event also features representatives from Asian and African countries. The festival consistently attracts thousands of people and is a major draw for domestic and international tourists.

Furthermore, in July, the Bandung Arts Festival will be held, providing a platform for artists, cultural figures, creative communities, and the public to celebrate the diversity of artistic and cultural expression in an inclusive and reflective atmosphere. The Bandung Philharmonic Orchestra will also feature performances by musicians on one stage. The talents of all the musicians will be harmonized by Maxime Pitois, a professional orchestra conductor from France known for his active work in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia.

In addition to Bandung, the KEN (National Tea Festival) event in July also takes place in Garut Regency. Tourists can experience the thrill and thrill of Sundanese tea drinking, surrounded by the cool highland air and a truly impressive cultural experience. All these activities are combined into one event, the Nyaneut Festival 2026.

Next up is the West Java Festival, which will be held this coming September. Each year, the West Java Festival celebrates the anniversary of West Java Province, showcasing modern music performances, regional arts and culture, and superior MSME products from 27 regencies/cities.

Finally, there's the Cai Diraga Cultural Festival, also held in September. This annual celebration in Cirebon Regency preserves the Larung Cai tradition as a form of gratitude and environmental conservation.
