PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Residents will again have access to jet flights from Husein Sastranegara International Airport starting August 14, 2026.

The medium-bodied jet aircraft flight received approval from the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia after all operational readiness met standards.

The approval was given to PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (Persero) or InJourney Airports after going through security, safety, service and regulatory verification.

The operational permit is stated in the letter from the Director General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Number AU.101/17/4/DRJU.DBU-2026.

InJourney Airports President Director Mohammad Rizal Pahlevi appreciated the government's support in re-optimizing the operations of Husein Sastranegara Airport.

"We thank the Ministry of Transportation and all parties for their support of InJourney Airports during the optimization preparations until Husein Sastranegara Airport is declared ready to serve jet flights on August 14, 2026," Rizal said.

According to Rizal, the operation of jet aircraft will expand connectivity while providing a more comfortable travel experience for passengers.

"Optimizing flights at Husein Sastranegara Airport will ensure smooth travel and welcome tourists with the best facilities and services, complemented by a modern atmosphere that blends with West Javanese culture," he said.

The inaugural jet flight is scheduled to serve the Denpasar–Bandung and Bandung–Denpasar routes using Garuda Indonesia aircraft.

InJourney Airports has prepared 26 check-in counters, self-check-in kiosk machines, and security screening devices in the departure area.

Passengers can also use the commercial area, coworking space, and kids zone while waiting for their flight in the waiting room.

The arrivals area provides three conveyor belts for baggage claim as well as a public transport outlet for ordering public transport services.

The airport also provides six prayer rooms, 22 toilets, two escalators, and three elevators to support passenger needs.

All terminal safety equipment is ensured to function optimally to support safe and comfortable flights for the public.

The return of jet aircraft to service has opened up wider access to air transportation while supporting tourism and economic activity in West Java.
