PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) is preparing quick steps to ensure that teaching and learning activities for students at SDN 026 continue amidst land issues and the construction of a new school building.

Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan said that teaching and learning activities at SDN 026 Bojongloa will be temporarily moved to the SDN 148 building. The relocation is targeted to begin on September 7, 2026.

To accommodate both schools, SDN 148 and SDN 026 will implement a two-session learning system. SDN 148 students will attend classes in the morning session, while SDN 026 students will use the same building during the afternoon session.

According to him, this step is a temporary solution so that the educational process for students of SDN 026 is not disrupted while the Bandung City Government prepares a new school building.

"In any case, access to education for children must be prioritized because it is the right of every citizen guaranteed by the Constitution," said Farhan at Husein Sastranegara International Airport in Bandung, Thursday (27/8/2026).

On the other hand, the Bandung City Government is still completing a number of administrative requirements for the construction of the new SDN 026 building.

According to Farhan, construction will begin once all requirements are met. He targets completion of the new school building in approximately one year.

The Bandung City Government is also still open to dialogue with residents who have expressed objections to the location of the new school construction.

Farhan explained that the government is continuing to seek solutions that accommodate the interests of citizens while ensuring that children's educational rights are met.

"We will strive to engage in dialogue to ensure that, no matter what, access to education for our children is prioritized," he explained.

In addition, regarding the land and buildings of the old SDN 026, Farhan ensured that the Bandung City Government would follow the applicable legal processes and decisions.

He stated that no execution order has been issued by the court to date. Therefore, the process of vacating the old building is still awaiting further legal mechanisms, including an execution order from the authorities.

However, conditions on the ground that had previously caused disruption to student safety and comfort led the government to consider temporarily moving teaching and learning activities.

"To prevent this from happening again, we took the initiative to temporarily move the teaching and learning process at SDN 026 to SDN 148 while waiting for the administrative process to be completed," he said.
