PORTALJABAR, BOGOR REGENCY - A total of 720 West Java Provincial Government (Jabar) ASN for the 2024 intake were appointed and sworn in on the Sukawangi Village soccer field, Bogor Regency, Monday (15/6/2026).

The appointment of hundreds of ASN was based on the Governor's Decree stipulated in Bandung on April 13, 2026 with Number KEP.259-KPG.02-PPIK-2026 concerning the Appointment of Prospective Civil Servants to Become Civil Servants of the West Java Provincial Government in 2026.

In his remarks, West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi said that the ASN inauguration and oath-taking ceremony was held on a soccer field in a remote village to reaffirm the function and role of ASN as public servants, not only in cities but also in remote villages.

"Why did I invite you here? First, so that your understanding of West Java shouldn't be limited to Gedung Sate, as West Java is vast. Second, so that you understand the potential and layout of the West Java region," he said.

KDM stated that the area where the oath was taken was once close to Pakuan Pajajaran, the capital of the Sunda Kingdom. This area boasts stunning natural beauty and is surrounded by mountains.

"The government will strive to build good roads to connect this region, connecting Bogor with Bekasi, Karawang, Purwakarta, West Bandung, and Cianjur. If the roads are well-built, with the natural landscape being extraordinary for tourism, the local economy will improve," he said.

To ensure the community can benefit from the economic benefits of tourism, according to KDM, the land owned should not be sold to outsiders in West Java. Furthermore, the forests and natural environment should be preserved and not eroded by the emergence of luxury housing typically owned by city dwellers.

KDM hopes for a collective awareness among civil servants (ASN) in developing West Java. There should be no more shoddy school and community health center buildings in rural areas. Civil servants should not only be confined to administrative matters but should also be more involved in the field, interacting directly with the community. Taxes collected from the people should be returned to the people in the form of road construction and educational and healthcare facilities.

"This is what must become a collective awareness. Therefore, we are entering a new era of bureaucracy, namely bureaucracy that works quickly," KDM emphasized.

One form of collective awareness was demonstrated by the civil servants inaugurated today. Following their inauguration, they held a community service event to help underprivileged residents in Sukawangi Village.

Of the 720 ASN who were appointed and inaugurated, 39 groups were formed (where each group contains 20 ASN) who become foster guardians for underprivileged residents.

One of the activities undertaken was collecting voluntary donations. The funds raised were then used to renovate uninhabitable homes. This initiative was applauded by KDM.

Raisan, a civil servant from the West Java Inspectorate, and Ivan, a civil servant from the West Java Manpower and Transmigration Office (Disnakertrans) within the Cirebon City UPTD (Regional Technical Implementation Unit) expressed agreement with the governor's remarks. They noted their inauguration in an open field in a village far from the city center as a memorable experience. They also enthusiastically participated in social activities after the inauguration.

Meanwhile, local villagers, Obar and Ela, have expressed their gratitude for the Rp 20 million social assistance fund for their home renovations. The money will be used to renovate their stilt house and build a bathroom.

They were even more touched when KDM also contributed an additional Rp. 15 million to buy a cow.

"Alhamdulillah, this is a blessing for the civil servants inaugurated today. I'm also grateful for the unexpected blessing from Governor KDM. The money will be used to build a bathroom and buy a cow," said Mrs. Ela.
