PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - As a precautionary measure against the threat of data leaks and account misuse, the Bekasi Regency Government has implemented conditional Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on the BISMA system through a circular regarding cybersecurity enforcement within the regional government.

This system is implemented as a form of prevention effort against potential data leaks as well as securing the accounts of State Civil Apparatus (ASN) within the Bekasi Regency regional government.

This was emphasized by the Regional Secretary of Bekasi Regency, Endin Samsudin during the Korpri Ceremony at the Bekasi Regency Government Plaza, Central Cikarang, Wednesday (17/6/2026).

The Bekasi Regency Regional Secretary stated that strengthening cybersecurity is a necessity that cannot be ignored, given the rapid digital transformation in government administration and public services.

According to him, the government's work system, which increasingly relies on digital technology, does indeed facilitate more effective and integrated public service delivery. However, behind this convenience, there are challenges that require shared attention, particularly those related to the security of government data and information.

"The threat of data leaks, account misuse, and cyberattacks is now a common occurrence in government work environments. Therefore, awareness and shared responsibility are needed to maintain the security of the digital systems we use," said Regional Secretary Endin.

Endin explained that the implementation of MFA in the BISMA system is one of the Bekasi Regency Government's efforts to strengthen the protection of civil servant data and regional government systems. All civil servants are required to use the MFA feature as an additional layer of security to protect their accounts and prevent potential data leaks.

"Through this policy, all officials are expected to be more disciplined and more concerned about the security of their accounts and personal data. MFA activation is not merely an administrative obligation, but part of a shared commitment to maintaining the security of government information," he explained.

Endin also emphasized that all civil servants play a crucial role in maintaining digital system security. This includes using strong passwords, maintaining account confidentiality, and understanding security procedures when using government applications.

"These include not sharing verification codes, regularly changing passwords, and ensuring the security of the devices used. This is a crucial form of discipline in today's digital age, as security and data threats often arise from minor negligence in using technology," said the Regional Secretary.

Amidst the increasing demands for fast, digital-based public services, Endin emphasized that civil servants are not only required to be adaptive and capable of using technology, but also must be aware of maintaining the security of government information.

To that end, Regional Secretary Endin invited all employees within the Bekasi Regency Government to continue to increase their understanding and awareness of the importance of cybersecurity in the government work environment.

"Let's make this strengthening of cybersecurity part of our efforts to create a safer and more orderly government system that is able to face the challenges of future technological developments," he concluded. (Bekasi Regency Communications and Information Office/rka)
