PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The increase in public facilities and activity levels in the Gedebage area has an impact on the density of weekend visitors. Moreover, on Sunday, (4/2/2024) football fans will pack the GBLA stadium to watch the Liga 1 match Persib Bandung vs Persis Solo live.

To anticipate traffic jams that will occur, the Head of Gedebage Sub-district, Jaenudin, explained that all parties are continuing to temporarily re-approve the activities of 1,050 weekly street vendors and mass gymnastics at GBLA

“We have been implementing this policy for a long time. The street vendors have adhered to this decision. "We will remind the street vendors that there is a mutual agreement that has been established," he said.

He said that all parties were ready to support major events like this and maintain regional comfort by prioritizing dialogue at the sub-district level.

"If there is a match at GBLA, for example in the afternoon, from the morning our team will be standing by on the field because the GBLA area must be sterile from parties who do not have a summary of the match," he said.

The regional enforcement team consists of the sub-district Linmas Task Force and sub-district Satlinmas whose task is to help security forces sterilize the GBLA area. The regional team is combing to prevent any unruly street vendors from trading at GBLA during the match.

"In total there are 20 sub-district Linmas task forces and 55 sub-district Linmas task forces deployed. "Including regional staff," he said.

Apart from that, I have also socialized the results of the meeting with the Acting Mayor and Regional Secretary to the local community regarding efforts to handle traffic jams in Gedebage.

He admitted that the parties really support and align with the directions from the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) in responding to traffic jam problems after the closure of the KM 149 Toll Exit and Summarecon Bandung Mall operations.

"Several points agreed upon include supporting the Bandung City Government's steps to speed up repairs to the KM 149 Toll Exit. Also supporting the Bandung City Government in collaborating with the West Java Provincial Government and Summarecon to complete the South Gedebage Intersection for Access 5 Summarecon which penetrates the Al Jabbar Grand Mosque," explained Jaenudin.

The community also supports the government's program to open the KM 151 toll exit. Then, it supports the Bandung City Government's proposal in an effort to widen the South Gedebage road.

"Fifth, support the completion of the construction of the New Cisaranten bridge. Sixth, support the completion of the construction of BUTR (Bandung Infra Urban Toll Road) from the Summarecon roundabout towards Jalan Soekarno Hatta," he added.

Then, he added, the people of Gedebage had no problem with the traffic engineering carried out by the Bandung Transportation Service and Polrestabes in reducing the upcoming traffic jam. (rdp*)
