PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Regional Secretary of West Java Province Herman Suryatman together with Bandung Mayor Farhan and local government officials discussed waste management strategies in Bandung City.

The meeting took place under the Pasupati Bridge, Friday (28/3/2025), after releasing the Weather Modification Operation (OMC) from Husein Sastranegara Airport, Bandung City.

"The main topic of discussion is related to waste management in Bandung City. In the short term, before and during Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri, we will organize waste transportation itineraries. In the medium and long term, we will optimize waste management at the household and environmental levels," said Herman.

As a concrete step, in the afternoon, they reviewed the prospective location for integrated and sustainable waste management at Secapa TNI AD, Hegarmanah, Bandung.

During the visit, the West Java Provincial Government, Bandung City Government, and Secapa TNI AD agreed to work together in waste management.

"The Bandung City Government will prepare community groups and operational support as managers, the West Java Provincial Government will help with incinerator machines. Meanwhile, Secapa will provide a place and security," he said.

This collaborative step is expected to be a sustainable solution to overcome the waste problem in Bandung City, especially in dealing with the spike in waste production during the Eid al-Fitr celebration.
