PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. BOGOR - Bogor Regency Regional Secretary, Burhanudin together with Bogor Regional Government officials carried out a virtual joint tree planting with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) which took place at Taman Tegar Beriman Cibinong, Wednesday (29/11/2023).

The joint tree planting movement was carried out to anticipate climate change and pollution that occurred in Jabodetabek.

The Regional Secretary of Bogor Regency, Burhanudin, said that planting trees was an effort to deal with the impact of El-Nino, pollution and air temperatures which continue to increase as well as opening up green open space for the community.

"Thank you to the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry, the Central Government, DLH, and the ranks of the Bogor Regional Government for working together to protect nature and always promoting the concept of Green Open Space (RTH). "Thank God, we were also given community forests by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry at 2 points, with an area of 40 hectares in Balasari and 143 hectares in the Ciguha tourist attraction, we will use them with the concept of community forests," he said.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo said that the joint tree planting movement was carried out to anticipate climate change, to anticipate global warming which has been felt together and is real.

"Also in overcoming pollution in Jabodetabek," said Jokowi while attending the Joint Tree Planting Movement in the JIEP City Forest, Pulogadung Industrial Area, East Jakarta.

Furthermore, the Secretary General of PPKL of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Tulus Laksono, appreciated the Regional Secretary and the ranks of the Bogor Regional Government for supporting the tree planting movement.

"Hopefully what we are doing today will be an act of worship for all of us, so that the Tegar Beriman City Park can be useful and can then be used as a public facility for the people of Bogor Regency," he added. (rdp*)
