PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The operation of the SPHP Medium Rice Market and Cheap Market in several sub-districts attracted great enthusiasm from the public on the two days of implementation. Since morning, people have been queuing to get rice, which is priced at IDR 53,000 per 5 kilograms.

To anticipate queues, the Bandung City Department of Trade and Industry (Disdagin) will evaluate distribution patterns by distributing rice to sub-districts to break up queues.

Plt. Head of the Bandung City Trade and Industry Service (Disdagin), Ronny Ahmad Nurudin, said that public enthusiasm in operating the SPHP Medium Rice market was very high, resulting in several quite long queues.

For this reason, he admitted that he had evaluated with Bulog and the sub-district heads regarding distribution patterns so that people's queues would not become too large.

Ronny said, to prevent crowds from piling up, Disdagin would distribute rice to sub-districts to break up queues.

This will be carried out during the Medium Rice Market Operation in Sukajadi, Gedebage and Bandung Kidul Districts which will be held on Wednesday, February 21 2024.

"We will focus on three sub-districts tomorrow, then the pattern will be the same. We have coordinated with the sub-district heads of Sukajadi, Gedebage and Bandung Kidul. We will spread the pattern to the sub-districts," said Ronny, Tuesday (20/2/2024).

Technically, continued Ronny, the medium rice will be dropped to the sub-district, then the regional authorities will distribute it to the sub-districts.

"So there is no one point of accumulation for Medium Rice Market Operations. So later in the sub-district there will be distribution of Medium Rice Market Operations," he said.

Apart from that, to facilitate and speed up transactions, cashiers will also be added so that there will be no more backlogs during payments.

"The most important thing is that there must be a lot of cashiers. In the sub-districts there will also be quite a lot of cashiers so that queues don't pile up," he said.

Furthermore, he hopes that the SPHP Medium Rice Market Operation can run smoothly and the public is advised not to panic buy.

The Medium Rice Market Operation Activities for Stabilizing Food Price Supply (SPHP) and Cheap Markets will be held in 30 Districts from 19 February - 1 March 2024.

This activity is supported by Bulog, Pertamina, Wilmar, CV. Bagus, West Java Province Distanhorti, Zibyfarm, Prima Freshmart, Chili Farmers, Triarta, SJU and Modern Retail Stores that are members of APRINDO DPC Bandung City, namely Borma, Yogya Group, Lotte Grosir, Superindo, Prama, Lotte Mart, Transmart, Hypermart, Hyfresh , Yomart, Alfamart, Indomaret and Amanda Mart.
