PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - Assistant for Economy and Development of the Regional Secretariat (Setda) of Garut Regency, Teti Sarifen, said that based on the results of the evaluation of current tourism and cultural developments, there are 5 main aspects that support the success of tourism and cultural programs in Garut Regency.

These 5 aspects are improving the quality of accessibility of tourism supporting road facilities and infrastructure, developing integrated regional culture-based tourist attractions in superior tour packages on a scheduled basis according to the event calendar, providing opportunities for regional arts and artists collaboratively in tourism events.

Then increase the preservation and development program for regional arts and culture, and increase tourism awareness in implementing Sapta Pesona, as well as developing a tourism development pattern based on local wisdom, which involves constructive community participation.

This was conveyed by Teti when giving a speech at the Regional Apparatus Forum of the Garut Regency Tourism and Culture Service (Disparbud), which took place in the Cipanas Indah Hotel Hall, Garut Regency, Friday (15/3/2024).

"Of course, in this forum, we must be able to synergize, between suggestions from the community as well as the DPRD's main thoughts, of course the one who can prioritize this SKPD work plan is the SKPD itself, so which is more important for the work plan in 2025, of course this is the day that must be we'll discuss it," he said.

Teti assessed that if its function is to provide a multiplier effect on economic growth and community welfare, the tourism and culture partnership should be able to synchronize the draft work plan of the Garut Regency Tourism and Culture Department.

So that determining priorities for tourism and culture development programs, in the future, will be able to have great leverage on the success of the output and outcomes of all sectors that are systemically related to the development of the tourism and culture sector.

Head of the Garut Regency Tourism and Culture Office, Luna Aviantrini, said that his party hopes that there will be input, suggestions and thoughts from the invited guests who attended the forum, so that later they can produce material for the work plan of the Garut Regency Tourism and Culture Department in 2025.

According to Luna, the theme of regional development in 2025 is equitable development in order to improve the quality of life of the community, so the party must refer to this theme.

The aim of the tourism and culture department's work plan for 2025, continued Luna, is to improve the performance of tourism with local wisdom and an environmental perspective, which is supported by several indicators ranging from tourist visits, occupancy levels, and the turnover rate of money spent by tourists.

"The first target is increasing tourism destinations, the second is tourism marketing, strengthening the tourism industry ecosystem, and promoting cultural objects," he said.
