PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Regional Secretary of Bandung City, Iskandar Zulkarnain, asked state civil servants (ASN) to respond to residents' complaints quickly and appropriately.
This message was delivered at the Commencement of Work Roll Call at the Bandung City Hall Plaza on 28/9/2026, as well as the farewell ceremony for 58 retired civil servants.
The activity was also combined with the handover of excerpts of the Decree (SK) for the promotion of civil servants for the October 2026 period.
Iskandar said that technological developments have made it easier for people to express their aspirations and complaints through various communication channels.
Therefore, every regional apparatus needs to provide a quick, appropriate, polite response and in accordance with legal provisions.
"Responding to public aspirations must be swift, appropriate, courteous, and legally based. This is crucial to maintaining public trust in the government," he said.
Public service, according to Iskandar, is not enough to just run programs, but also ensure that citizens' needs are followed up.
He asked regional, sub-district and village officials to handle every community problem quickly through coordination according to their authority.
Iskandar also encouraged strengthening the economic and employment sectors so that economic growth would have a direct impact on the welfare of citizens.
The government needs to encourage employment, improve workforce skills, and develop business opportunities for the community.
"Collaboration between the government, business, and education must continue to be strengthened so that economic development can be sustainable and provide broad benefits to society," he said.
A total of 58 retired civil servants were also released as part of an appreciation for their service to the Bandung City Government.
In addition, an excerpt of the decree on civil servant promotions for the October 2026 period was submitted as part of the civil service career management.
Iskandar emphasized that ASN has a direct role in ensuring that government programs run smoothly and that public services remain responsive.
"Our primary focus is serving the public. Therefore, every civil servant must be able to work professionally, responsively, and with integrity," he said.
