PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Husein Sastranegara International Airport in Bandung has resumed flights after being temporarily closed due to the spread of volcanic ash.

Based on the official flight notification (NOTAM) from AirNav Indonesia, airport operations returned to normal starting September 8, 2026 at 00.42 WIB.

The reopening allows the public to resume flight services from Bandung after the airport's conditions are declared to meet safety standards.

PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia ensures that all airport facilities, both airside and landside, are ready to support flight operations.

InJourney Airports Corporate Secretary Group Head Arie Ahsanurrohim said the airport reopened after all flight safety procedures were implemented.

"The airside and landside facilities at all three airports are ready to resume operations. All airport operations and service personnel are also guaranteed to be ready," Arie said in a statement on September 8, 2026.

Officers previously cleaned volcanic ash in all airside areas, including the apron, taxiway , and runway .

In addition to cleaning, officers conducted friction tests on the runway to ensure operational feasibility.

Test results show that runway conditions meet safety standards and requirements to support resumption of flights.

Flight recovery will continue to be carried out in stages, prioritizing safety, so that airlines can adjust their flight schedules.

At Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang, flight flow arrangements are being implemented in stages through the implementation of Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM).

These arrangements maintain a safe flow of departures and arrivals while gradually restoring the airport's operational capacity.

Meanwhile, prospective passengers are advised to check their flight status before departing for Husein Sastranegara International Airport, Bandung.
