PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (Persero) or InJourney Airports has begun accelerating operational preparations for Husein Sastranegara Airport following the government's policy of reopening scheduled commercial air transport services using jet aircraft.
This step refers to the Letter of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation No. AU.102/1/8/DRJU.DAU/2026. Based on the letter, Husein Airport can serve scheduled domestic and international commercial flights using jet and propeller aircraft, as well as unscheduled commercial and non-commercial flights.
InJourney Airports President Director, Mohammad R. Pahlevi, said that his party has formed an Operational Readiness Activation and Transition (ORAT) Team to ensure that all preparation stages run optimally.
"The preparations are being made in accordance with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation's directives, prioritizing security, safety, and service aspects to ensure the smooth operation of Husein Sastranegara Airport," Pahlevi said.
He said that InJourney Airports continues to coordinate with the Ministry of Transportation, the Indonesian Air Force, BP BUMN, Danantara, InJourney, airlines, ground handling operators, Immigration, Customs, and various other stakeholders to support the smooth optimization process.
In terms of safety, InJourney has increased the capacity of its Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) from category 5 to category 7 by adding facilities, including a Foam Tender firefighting vehicle.
Meanwhile, the security aspect is strengthened by adding Aviation Security personnel along with supporting equipment such as handheld metal detectors, walkthrough metal detectors, CCTV, and other security equipment.
Preparations are also being made for the airside infrastructure by resurfacing several sections of the runway (overlay runway), as well as ensuring the readiness of taxiways and aprons to support jet aircraft operations.
On the service side, improvements have been made to the domestic and international terminals, including the arrangement of passenger waiting rooms to provide greater comfort.
"We will present Husein Sastranegara Airport with improved services, infrastructure, and facilities, while prioritizing security, safety, service, and compliance with all regulations," he said.
