PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung City Hall Plaza suddenly transformed into a sea of joy on Friday night (September 26, 2025). Thousands of residents poured into the opening of Bandung Berpesta 215, a people's party to commemorate the 215th anniversary of Bandung City.

Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan enthusiastically opened the event. With his signature greeting, he immediately lit up the atmosphere.
"Sampurasun! Rampes! Sadayana Sarehat. Alhamdulillah, tonight we celebrate the 215th anniversary of the city of Bandung together," Farhan exclaimed, greeted by enthusiastic applause from the crowd.

Farhan admitted he was initially hesitant about holding the celebration after the city's turmoil. However, collaboration with BTV was key.
"Bandung can't be quiet. It must be bustling and full of energy. That's why we're creating Bandung Berpesta, especially for the residents," he said.

Opening night was enlivened by performances by popular Bandung bands. Legendary rock group /RIF delivered a full-throttle performance, while Setia Band, led by vocalist Charlie, had the crowd singing along.

Farhan even invited residents to immediately call their family and neighbors so they wouldn't miss their idol's performance.
"Call everyone, brother, sister, uncle, and sister! Tell them we'll have our hearts broken together with Charlie Setia Band," he joked, greeted by loud laughter.

"This City Hall Plaza belongs to the people of Bandung. Let's celebrate Bandung with harmony, collaboration, and a spirit of sharing. Happy 215th birthday to our beloved city," he said.

Meanwhile, BTV Director Enggar said the event emerged from a brief conversation with the Mayor. Although preparations were limited to just a week, the enthusiasm for celebrating HJKB made it all possible.

"Bandung is a city of struggle and creativity. This is the first time the mayor has been so passionate about it, given his background in the creative industry and media. It's no wonder the residents are so close to him," Enggar said.

Bandung Berpesta wasn't just a music concert; it also served as a platform for social awareness. That night, the Bandung City Government, along with BTV, distributed donations to 215 children—a number representing the city's age.

The aid was distributed to orphans, disabled children, and children affected by disasters. The symbolic handover ceremony was punctuated by Farhan's friendly banter with the recipients, creating a warm atmosphere.
