PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The 2024 Bandung Mayoral Election is just a few days away. Exactly on November 27, 2024, the event will be held simultaneously.

"The regional elections in Bandung City are just a few days away, around 105 days away. Of course, we must also reflect on the elections last February, which were held peacefully and conducively," said Acting Mayor of Bandung Bambang Tirtoyuliono at the Declaration of Peace for the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections at the Bandung City Level, at the Horison Hotel, Monday (12/8/2024).

He said that the election participation rate in the last presidential election reached 82.9 percent of the total Permanent Voter List (DPT) of around 1,871,381 voters.

"Of course, in the simultaneous regional elections, the participation rate will be optimized with a target of above 90 percent, with the addition of the Permanent Voter List (DPT) of 23 percent or around 436,000, all of whom are new voters," he said.

He also appreciated the ranks of Forkopimda, mass organizations and stakeholders who are committed to making the election a success.

"The success of the simultaneous regional elections cannot be separated from the role and commitment of all stakeholders, starting from election organizers, political parties, Forkopimda, civil society, and of course citizens as the main actors of our democracy," he said.

Bambang said that this declaration was not a ceremony and formality, but a binding measure to realize simultaneous regional elections that were democratic, fair, safe, conducive, and of high quality.

"Quality here means that all election processes are carried out according to procedures and transparently, so that the election results are accepted by all parties and have a level of public trust and automatically the leaders produced also have strong legitimacy from the people," he said.

Head of the Bandung City National Unity and Politics Agency (Kesbangpol) Bambang Sukardi said that through this declaration, they are committed to jointly maintaining security, order and peace in Bandung City during the implementation of the Pilkada.

"By maintaining conduciveness, we not only support the creation of a safe and peaceful atmosphere, but also participate in efforts to achieve the long-term goal of Bandung City as a developed and sustainable city," he said.

He said that the intent and purpose of the declaration was to create a conducive domestic political climate and democratic life in the city of Bandung in supporting the vision of national development in line with the vision of the city of Bandung as Excellent, Comfortable, Prosperous, and Religious.

"The goal is to unite the commitment of all related parties in maintaining security and order during the regional election process," he said.

The implementation of the 2024 simultaneous regional election peace declaration activity at the Bandung City level was attended by 760 participants, consisting of PD Heads, sub-district heads, village heads, Police Chiefs, Danramil throughout Bandung City, chairmen and administrators of political parties.

The following is the Peace Declaration for the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections:
1. Implement the 2024 Regional Elections which are direct, general, free, secret, honest and fair.

2. Maintain the conduciveness of the 2024 Pilkada so that it takes place safely, calmly, peacefully and happily in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

3. ⁠reject all forms of dissemination of hoax news, hate speech, money politics, politicization of religion and ethnicity.

Also attending were the KPU Ad Hoc Body, Bawaslu throughout Bandung City, organizations and communities and representatives of high school and vocational school students in Bandung City.
